Laucnhing AeroGarden into Best Buy stores with a new direction and marketing push.

THE ASK

Grow your own gardens at home

AeroGarden, established in 2002, is a pioneer in indoor hydroponic gardening, making it accessible to consumers without traditional gardening spaces. However, their products were had been only available to purchase online with limited distribution, until they partnered with Best Buy to sell their gardens in-store and on the Best Buy website.

Best Buy and AeroGarden needed high-end product videos showing the features of their product line, and MEDIUM Films agreed to produce them, shooting on location and in our studio.

THE APPROACH

To show off the products, we began preproduction by crafting the scripts, finding some wonderful kitchens on location in Boulder and Denver, and casting some happy local actors to be our stars. The idea was to capture how easy the AeroGardens were for users to produce delicious home-grown vegetables in any season. 

THE CHALLENGES

We knew these videos needed to have exceptional production value, we knew, so we decided to light our scenes with all the Hollywood techniques we knew, refine the vision for the shots, and to keep all camera movement very smooth.

THE PRODUCTION

Over the course of several weeks, our crew shot with our clients in several beautiful and sunny kitchens and our studio, capturing ever detail of AeroGarden’s products. We handled Set design, lighting design, and great compositions showing users cooking on location to create wonderful meals with their new garden systems.

THE RESULT

First $1M in sales in a single day

Our team edited the product videos, and added tracked motion graphics for key product details.

The videos launched on BestBuy.com on Black Friday,  and as a result, AeroGarden had their first $1M sales in one day!  The next shopping day, Cyber Monday did another $1M in sales also!
